Use tiers as a fight plan, not a myth

  • Pick a style that matches your height, timing, and PvP habits before chasing rarity.
  • Treat S-tier as the safest competitive pick, not a promise that you can ignore parries.
  • Use the beginner and height pages when a ranked style feels wrong in your hands.

Tier list overview

This Gakuran tier list is built for the question players actually ask in a live server: which fighting style should you keep, reroll, learn, or avoid for your current body type and PvP habits? Gakuran rewards timing more than menu luck. A strong style still needs stance control, spacing, parries, and a plan for your height.

Use the rankings below as a decision map. If your server has a fresh balance patch or a style name that does not match a public guide yet, treat the row as a starting point and test it in a short fight before spending more rerolls.

Quick style index

Tier
Style
Best for
Watch out
S
Boxing
Clean 1v1 pressure, parry punish, reliable M2 control.
You still need timing; careless spam gets parried.
S/A
Capoeira / Hakari
Explosive players who can keep tempo and convert openings.
Server version and player skill change their value quickly.
A
Wrestling / Muay Thai
Players who want strong pressure without relying on one trick.
Matchups matter; learn when to disengage.
B
Slugger / Karate
Casual fights, tall-body burst, or learning fundamentals.
Experienced players punish obvious heavy swings.
C
Basic
Learning stance, movement, block timing, and spacing.
Replace it once you understand your preferred fight rhythm.

What each guide helps you decide

Fighting Styles

Which style should you keep?

Open this when you want the full style ranking, the reason each style sits where it does, and a simple reroll rule.

PvP Meta

What wins in real fights?

Use this before you jump into public-server brawls, 1v1s, or gang fights where matchup and latency matter.

Beginner Picks

What should a new player use?

Start here if you are still learning stance, M1 strings, M2 timing, block, dash, and parry windows.

Height Builds

Does your body type change the answer?

Use this when a style feels strong in someone else's hands but awkward with your own height and hitbox.

How to read the rankings

S tier means the style gives you reliable pressure or a strong win condition when both players understand the basics. It does not mean you can ignore block timing or walk into every trade. A tier means the style is strong and worth keeping, especially when it fits your body type. B tier can still win casual fights, but you need cleaner decisions. C tier is mostly for learning or for players who have not rerolled yet.

The safest reroll rule is simple: keep a style if it gives you a clear answer to your current problem. If you lose because you cannot open block, value guard pressure. If you lose because you get punished during slow swings, value faster pressure and safer disengage. If you lose because you panic in group fights, value a style that resets spacing instead of one that asks for perfect combo routes.

Best first move

If you want one quick answer, start with the Fighting Styles page. If you are brand new, read Beginner Picks before you reroll. If you already fight often, open PvP Meta. If your style feels wrong even though it ranks high, check Height Builds before blaming the style.
