Before you fight

  • Use this page as a quick lookup, then confirm your live bindings in Gakuran Settings before serious PvP.
  • Community sources disagree on the stance key, so test T and R in a quiet spot before trading hits.
  • On mobile, move dash, block, and stance where your thumbs can reach them without covering the opponent.

Use this Gakuran controls page when you need a fast answer in the middle of a session. The goal is simple: find the input, confirm the platform, then get back into school fights without dragging a wide table across your screen.

The controls below combine Roblox platform defaults with current Gakuran community reports. Because Gakuran is moving quickly, treat the in-game Settings and any on-screen prompt as the final authority. The most important conflict right now is combat stance: some current guides report T, while another controls sheet reports R. Test both in a quiet area before you start PvP.

PC keyboard and mouse

Start here

Confirm stance first

Try T and R before you fight. If one toggles combat stance, use that key for the rest of the session and check Settings after patches.

Combat

M1, M2, F, Q

Your core loop is light attack, heavy attack, timed block, and dash. If those four inputs feel awkward, fix them before worrying about style meta.

Phone

Alt opens utility

The phone is useful for social and job-style menus, but close it before standing in a hostile outdoor area. UI time is still server time.

Camera

Use a clean angle

Mouse control matters because parries and whiff punishes depend on seeing the swing. If your camera drifts, adjust sensitivity before sparring.

Mobile touch setup

Mobile is playable, but the default button layout may not be comfortable for Gakuran fights. Open the in-game settings before leaving a safe area and move the combat buttons into a shape your thumbs can hit without covering the opponent.

Right thumb

Attack and stance

Put here
Light attack, heavy attack, and stance toggle.
Why
You need to enter stance and attack without moving your camera hand too far.

Left or upper arc

Dash and block

Put here
Dash close to movement, block where you can tap it on reaction.
Why
Late block inputs are the easiest way to lose trades on mobile.

Screen clarity

Lower clutter after practice

Put here
Phone, emote, and utility buttons away from the fight center.
Why
Seeing the opponent's shoulder and step-in matters more than having every button huge.

Xbox and controller layout

Controller reports are less consistent than PC inputs, so use this as a baseline, then confirm the live prompts. The safest priority is to make light attack, block, dash, and camera comfortable before looking for carry or execute inputs.

Most important binds

Keep RT/R2 for light attack, LT/L2 for block, B/Circle for dash, and Y/Triangle for heavy if your client matches current reports.

Stance may need checking

If combat stance is not obvious on controller, open Experience Settings before PvP. A missing stance bind is worse than a weak fighting style.

Practice carry and execute

Carry and execute inputs are reported as X/Square and LB + X, but chord inputs are easy to miss under pressure. Drill them in a quiet spot.

Combat timing reminders

Controls only matter once the timing is clean. In Gakuran fights, do not turn every exchange into nonstop M1 spam. Use the keys to create a rhythm your opponent cannot read.

Pattern
Input
Use it for
Avoid
Parry
F right before contact.
Stopping predictable M1 strings and stealing your turn back.
Holding block forever until posture or pressure breaks you.
1-2-M2
M1 · M1 · pause · M2.
Punishing players who expect a third light hit.
Repeating it every fight until everyone parries the pause.
Reset
Block, Q back, re-enter stance.
Escaping a bad trade and returning with spacing.
Dashing blindly into a wall or a second opponent.

Troubleshooting

  • If stance does nothing, try the other reported key, then check Settings.
  • If mobile parries feel late, move block closer and lower graphics before blaming ping.
  • If controller prompts vanish, reconnect the controller and re-open the Roblox menu.
  • If a combat button is disabled indoors, step out of safe or green-zone areas and test again.
  • If phone or job UI gets you hit, close stance and move indoors before opening menus.
  • If your keys changed after an update, trust the current client over old videos.

Source notes

This page uses current community controls guides, a July 2026 beginner guide, recent Gakuran controls videos, and Roblox platform control defaults as source signals. The page keeps source names as plain text so you can read the guide without being pushed to outside links.

The useful source pattern is: Roblox handles base movement, Gakuran layers stance and melee inputs on top, and community reports fill in the fast-changing binds. When two sources disagree, the table marks the conflict instead of pretending one answer is official.

Quick FAQ

Is the Gakuran stance key T or R?

Current player-facing sources disagree. Try T first, try R second, then check the in-game controls menu. Once your client confirms the key, use that binding for the session.

What should I learn first on PC?

Learn stance, M1, M2, F, and Q. Those five inputs cover most early fights.

Is mobile good enough for PvP?

Yes for casual fights, but you must move dash, block, and stance into comfortable spots. If the buttons cover the opponent, your reactions will feel late.

What is the safest controller setup?

Start from the current community baseline: light on RT/R2, block on LT/L2, dash on B/Circle, heavy on Y/Triangle, then confirm prompts in game.
